30th ECNP Congress, 2017,Paris

This year’s ECNP congress offered another outstanding array of the world’s best CNS treatment research. 4,700 people participated from 100 countries around the world, including 200 speakers and 1,000 poster presenters.

To quote ECNP President Celso Arango, it was: “A great meeting full of energy, innovations and young researchers eager to learn. The rooms were full, lively debates and excellent plenaries.”

It was especially pleasing to see the success of new formats, including our top-paper ‘highlight’ sessions, the patient session and the expert science exchanges. We thank all those who came and made it such a great congress.

Work is fully underway on the 31st ECNP Congress next year in Barcelona, where some exciting new additions to the programme are planned. So stay tuned! 

Congress webcasts - free to view

As with previous years, the vast majority of presentations at the 30th ECNP Congress are available online as webcasts. So if there’s a session you missed, or if you weren’t able to attend the congress at all, you can still catch up.

All the webcasts are free to view, and may be seen by anyone, any time. Many speakers have also made their presentation slides available. You can view them on the webcast page as well.

All you have to do is log-in via your ECNP account, or create one if you don’t already have one. It’s very quick.

2018 keynote and plenary speakers

We are proud to announce the list of keynote and plenary speakers for the 31st ECNP Congress. We are delighted to have Gareth Leng, United Kingdom, as our keynote speaker talking about The neuroscience of food choice and obesity.

We also have reputed plenary speakers that include Eero Castrèn, Finland, Peter Dayan, UK,  Josep Dalmau, USA/Spain and Tracy L. Bale, USA.

Applications open for New Frontiers Meeting  

The 2018 ECNP New Frontiers Meeting will address the challenges in the development of CNS treatments from a neurodevelopmental perspective.

Designed to tackle the challenges in translational neurosciences, the meeting aims at bringing academics, industry leaders and regulators together to explore exciting new areas of emerging science and map out promising new research horizons.

In depth: Michel Hamon

The next article in our 'ECNP in depth' series features Michel Hamon, 2017 ECNP Neuropsychopharmacology Award winner. Michel Hamon is honorary professor of neuropharmacology at the University Pierre and Marie Curie, Paris, and honorary director of research at the French Institut National de la Santé et de la Recherche Médicale (INSERM).

In recognition of his decades of ground-breaking research on the characterisation of serotonin and its receptors, he is this year’s recipient of the ECNP Neuropsychopharmacology Award.
